# Electronic Records Disclosure

This is the disclosure shown on the docuinked signing page. It tells you what you are agreeing to before you sign electronically. The sender of your document may add their own terms.

## What the signing page says

You are being asked to receive and sign this document electronically. You can ask the sender for a paper copy instead, and you can decline.

You may withdraw your consent to electronic records at any time before signing by choosing Decline or Request paper on the signing page. Withdrawing does not affect anything you already signed. The sender decides whether any fee applies to paper copies and will tell you.

This consent covers this document only. To update your email address, contact the sender.

You will need a current web browser, an email account and the ability to open and save PDF files. A copy of the signed document will be sent to you to keep.

## How the check works

We ask you to open a short test PDF and type the code it shows. That shows you can open the format the document uses. Your agreement is recorded as its own step, with the time.

## For senders

This wording is designed to support the consumer consent steps in the US ESIGN Act. It doesn't replace your own legal duties. You are the party giving the record, so you decide whether a disclosure is required, and whether this text meets the law that applies to you. You can turn it off with `consumer_disclosure: false` for business documents if your lawyer agrees.

Read more in [the ESIGN and UETA guide](/guides/esign-act-and-ueta). Questions from signers should go to the sender of the document. docuinked is a tool, not a party to it.
